Learning to crawl

We put Hadyn on her belly to see what she would do and she got pretty mad at us. She is very good at rolling anywhere but give her a month or so and she will be crawling everywhere. I love the picture that she looks like she is mad.

Notice the mohawk, it's Hadyns preferred hairstyle. Her hair started doing that about a month ago.

Sami taunting Dad

Aftermath of the Blizzard

The kids loved all the snow. Jake loved throwing it at them. They all built a fort to play in and hide from the snowballs flying through the air. Sami and I attempted to build a snowman, it was a lot harder then I remember. The snow only stayed around for about 6 days and then it got warm and rained like crazy.

BLIZZARD OF 2008

THE KIDS LOVED THE BLIZZARD THAT DUMPED 20 INCHES AT OUR HOUSE. JAKE HAD A LOT OF FUN THROWING THE KIDS INTO THE SNOW. THIS STORM WAS THE BIGGEST SNOW STORM IN COLUMBUS HISTORY. YESTERDAY AND TODAY WE WERE IN A LEVEL 3 SNOW EMERGENCY WHICH MEANS ONLY EMERGENCY VEHICLES CAN BE ON THE ROADS, OR YOU WILL GET A TICKET.

GOOD THING PAPA NEIL MADE US ALL THOSE EXTRA RIBS!!!

Burning your testimony

Stockton had to give a talk in church on Sunday. We went over his talk and then he told me that he needed to burn his testimony. I wanted to bust up laughing, he was so serious. I asked him how you burn your testimony, he sat there for a minute thinking and then he said "well you start a fire and you take the paper and throw it in". I asked him where he learned that and he told me Uncle Brad had taught him. Just one of the funny things my kiddies say on a daily basis

Messy Ribs

The kids were so happy when papa Neil came to town. Then when he told them that he was making ribs they really got excited. I think they ate enough for a week. Sydney really struggled to eat the ribs since she has no front teeth. She got the hang of it and loved it. Sami loved the ribs and licking the extra sauce off. It made me laugh at how much she loved the ribs. I do not think at that age I would have even touched a rib. Stockton summed it up though as he was finished devouring his ribs he said " I wish papa did not make all these ribs" I asked him why, He said "cause my tummy hurts because I like them and I have to eat them all". He had the last rib syndrome for sure, as we all did. We had a fun time and enjoyed a great meal. Thank you papa Neil.

Princess Samantha

Sami loves to dress up and pretend she is a princess. On this particular day she was having a tea party with me. Stockton was at school and I told her we had to go get him, she really wanted to wear her crown and jewels. I told her that would be fine but she needed to go and get her shoes on. I waited down stairs getting Hadyn ready and here comes Sami with Stockton's robe and her sunglasses on. She came down the stairs saying, "mom I'm ready to go". It was everything I could do to keep from laughing, she just looked so dang cute. She has to have the sunglasses on everywhere she goes. She had to go in the school to get Stockton, the teachers loved her outfit. Sami is such a free little spirit, we love her.

Hadyn eating and eating

Hadyn is just starting to like her rice cereal. The other night Jake was holding her while I was feeding her. She decided that tonight she liked the cereal. I was not feeding her fast enough that she grabbed my fingers that were holding the bowl and pulled them right up to her mouth. We both laughed, she acted like she was starving and she could not get enough. I continued to feed her but to her I was just to dang slow. Then Jake thought he would tease her a little and he took the bowl and acted like he was going to eat it and she freaked out she started crying and gave him this look like how could you eat my food. Jake then decided that he would just pour the cereal into her mouth at first she loved the idea but then she decided it was to much at once.
She ended up eating two bowls she loves to eat you should see her fat rolls, very cute.

Hadyn and Brutus

Hadyn finally found someone smaller than her to play with.

Snow Football

Dad's First Down

Stockton's First down

Stockton gets a blocker

Today we woke up to about four inches of fluffy snow. Stockton and Jake decided this morning that because of all the fluffy snow they were going to play football. Stockton could not wait for dad to get home from school. The second he did get home Stockton wanted to go out. The girls decided to go out too. Unfortunately it was only 8 degrees so it did not last long. I stood outside to take pictures and my finger became numb after 10 minutes. Everyone came in numb and wanting hot chocolate. Even though it was freezing Stockton had the time of his life.

Fun in the snow or ice

The kids keep asking me to go out and play in the snow. But what they have yet to come to terms with is that the snow in Ohio and the snow in Utah are two different things. It is very hard to make snowmen out of ice. They still had fun, Jake went out with them and they started playing with the big exercise ball. They had a blast even though it was only 20 degrees. Sami and I were the smart ones we stayed inside and took pictures.

Valentines Day

All the kids were very excited for Valentines because they knew it meant candy!!!!!
Hadyn looked so cute in her new bib Hammy Shan sent her. Thank you Hammy! Sydney is so funny she always acts like an adult. She kept saying oh my gosh it is Hadyn's first Valentines, she is so big I can't believe it. "The kids are getting older" she would say. I love Syd, she is such a big help in our home, she helps take care of the kids. Sometimes I think she is a better mom then I am. I love all my kids and I am so thankful for all of them. We had a very fun Valentines Day.

Florida

In January we headed to Florida to get some much needed sunshine. Much to my dismay the sun had a really had time coming out while we were down there. The kids did not care they still wanted to go swimming every chance they got. While all the old people down there had sweaters on and freezing my children were having a blast in the swimming pool. Oh well we had a fun time anyways. Hadyn and I enjoyed watching them in our warm clothes.

Columbus Temple

For family night a couple of weeks ago we went for a drive to see the Temple. Sami kept saying I want to go inside. As we were driving I was picturing a big Temple with a lot of grass around it. But as it turned out it shares the lot of a stake center. It was so little I guess I am just use to all the temples in Utah and how big they are. Here in Ohio it is another story very small but still amazingly beautiful. The kids got out of the car and we took there picture. They were very cold so we were only there for a quick look.

Hadyn smiles

Hadyn is getting so big. She is such a good baby and loves to smile at anyone who will smile at her.
